Today, Matt Bailey is invited to Sesame Workshop by his guest, Louis Henry Mitchell.
Mr. Mitchell is currently the Workshop’s Director of Character Design. He oversees drawn artwork and photoshoots of the Sesame Street Muppet characters. He began his work with Sesame as the “Associate Design Director of Special Projects”. In this capacity, he oversaw the development of Sesame Street tie-ins including stage shows, and the balloons and floats for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Mitchell is one of the most enthusiastic guests to have ever appeared on the show. His love for his work is at the fore of this conversation. From feeling a connection with the characters he works with, to loving the Workshop’s mission to educate children around the world, Mr. Mitchell says he feels right where he belongs. He opens up to Matt about his love of art, design, and of course, Cookie Monster.
