Today, Matt welcomes Crystal Gayle, now the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry!
Ms. Gayle sat down with Matt on the eve of her Opry invitation to talk about everything from her holiday traditions to the stories behind some of her biggest hits. You’ll hear how her classic, “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue” almost escaped Nashville for California. Of course, that song went on to sell one million records, making Gayle the first female country artist to have a platinum record. In addition, the pair discuss their admiration for country music geniuses Richard Leigh and Allen Reynolds.
Gayle will appear this Saturday, November 19th at the Seneca Allegany Casino in Salamanca, NY. Please note, the show will NOT be a presentation of “A Crystal Christmas”, as previously indicated on Crystal Gayle’s website.
